Textile Pupils Fashion Show

Around thirty GCSE and A Level students took part in an exciting Fashion Show on Sunday, 26th April in front of a very appreciative audience of fellow pupils, staff and parents. The idea behind the show was to test and evaluate their extensive coursework projects, and this was ably demonstrated by the first catwalk collection of Mondrian influenced mini-skirts professionally modelled to the sound of ‘Here come the girls!’

Comperes, Felicity Small and Adnan Ebo then introduced a variety of themed projects from the A Level students. Of particular note were Charlotte Nash’s ‘Cupcakes’ velvet corset with a beautiful skirt constructed from manipulating material into rose shaped flowers, and Adnan’s ‘Victorian meets 1970’s’ purple dandy jacket and waistcoat.***image2***

Nick Bourne, Poppy Smithers, Vicky Skinner and Alexandrine Brown delighted everyone with some lovely songs and of course the evening would not have been so successful without the excellent sound system provided by Richard Maybrey, Andrew Phillips and Alex Dickinson.
