OW Tommy Chan, from Hong Kong, has become heavily involved in motor racing in recent years. He started with go-karting and made his first international outing at Formula D in Singapore last year.
.
Tommy joined King Edward’s in 1996, starting in QMH and moving onto Edward Houses. He played sports throughout his time at KES, representing the School in football, hockey and cricket, as well as joining in the climbing, swimming, badminton, squash and water polo. He has found his school cross-country experience particularly useful, and now runs around Hong Kong’s varied and taxing hills, which helps keep him fit for racing. ‘Each week I try to schedule at least one cross-country session,’ says Tommy. ‘I pick my routes to work my body in different ways; there’s the flat sector for pacing myself, and the up-hill burst to push myself to the limit (especially the 1:5 hill by Albany Road, and I also get to see some lovely views too!’
.
2010 will be an exciting year for Tommy as he focuses on the Formula D Asian League, the HKCKK Championship, Pan Delta Racing Festival Drift Shows, race control responsibilities at the Pan Asia International Karting Race, and acting as Racing Engineer and Driver Data Analyst for Team TRC.
