Seven new Bridewell Fellows

The Lord Mayor, Nicholas Anstee, had a busy time at the annual Bridewell Luncheon at the Guildhall in March, when he presented medallions and certificates to no fewer than seven new Bridewell Fellows. This is the largest number of individual Fellows to be appointed at any one time and they really represented all parts of the King Edward’s School community.

Chris Lack, a longstanding governor and OW, Brian Hawkins, OW; Margaret Beesley, a recent friend of the School whose distant relative was an OW; Jan Millington, Deputy Head; Chris Cooper and Gary Hagland, both OWs and David Clark, a supporter of bursary pupils at the School.

Two new Fellows are already waiting in the wings as designate Fellows for the awards at the Guildhall next Spring. These are Ron Etherington, who has served the School for a number of years and new Corporate Fellows, the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers.

.

All Fellows, whether individual or Corporate, have committed to giving the Bridewell Foundation Campaign at least £10,000 to support bursary pupils at the School. The growing number of Fellows means that we can support increasing numbers of children and if anyone is interested in becoming a Fellow, please contact Mr Gwyn Phillips at King Edward’s School.
