KES pupils field trip to the London Olympic site

A combined Field trip for geography, economics and P.E students, provided an opportunity to visit the very impressive 2012 Olympic site. The trip included a full tour of the site and the government’s plans for the area were explained to us. This included the dramatic improvements to transport and other infrastructure and the legacy that will be left behind to benefit the local community. I think it was an eye opening experience for all of us as we were able to see how it is possible for the government to transform a depressed, derelict area to a place which is full of hope, ambition and accomplishments.

.

As I am from London myself I felt a sense of pride in the work that was being done and excitement for the change that hosting the Olympics will have for the local people. I think that hosting the 2012 Olympics will have a positive effect on the country as a whole because changes that are being made means that we can welcome the rest of the world into our country with pride and confidence in what Britain has to offer.
