Adam Clark however ensured that everyone was provided with drinks so my delay didn't matter too much but I needed a long drink to cool down in the relatively warm temperatures that Hong Kong enjoys at this time of year. Everyone was mixing well and it was very useful for existing and prospective parents to chat with the OW's about their experiences at KES. It was also a chance to update present parents on their sons and daughters latest progress reviews and the news was favourable as you would expect. Hong Kong pupils are generally very successful at KES.
I have put a brief summary below of what each of the OW's present is currently doing and I hope to publish fuller notes in the next OW publication.
Adam Clark (82-89 Ridley) is a professional support lawyer at Simmons and Simmons and he was accompanied by his wife Adriana. His twin brother Lester has returned to the UK, where he works as a graphic designer and visited KES during the Vivartis festival, but I missed him. I also found out today, that in August he married OW Rebecca Stevens, so congratulations to them both.
Kevin Chan (02-06 Grafton) has only just left KES and he is continuing his studies in HK. He wishes to be remembered to his friends from Grafton and Jason Wong in particular.
Tommy Chan (95-01 Edward) is working in the apparel industry for Yee Zung Garments and leads a very busy life travelling to the USA, China, Cambodia and the Philippines.
Stephen Hung (Wakefield) is pursuing a musical career. He plays percussion instruments and is hoping to perform in a classical orchestra in the future. He is about to audition for a music college in HK in the next few weeks.
Kevin Kwan (96-00 Edward) has graduated with a degree in IT from Toronto University in Canada and he spent two years in Boston, USA. He now works in an online advertising company in HK. His younger brother Kenny is at St Catherine's College, Oxford having just started a PhD.
Magnum Tu (Edward) is now called Elijah, having become a Christian and is very active in his church preaching the gospel. He continues with his piano playing and he is working as a piano teacher. He gets married in December and wants to pass on his best wishes to the KES music department, especially Mr Pedlar.
Parents that were present were Mrs Chan (Derek U6 - Wakefield), Mr & Mrs Lam (Henry 3rd - Grafton), Mr Kwan (OW's Kevin & Kenny's father), Mr M. Wong (OW Michael - Edward), Mrs W. Lee and Mr & Mrs Li and their daughter.
One or two other OW's were intending to come but didn't arrive but perhaps they will make it next year.
I am grateful to Adam for suggesting Madison's and being such a good host whenever I have flown in to Hong Kong. He even recommended a good tailor so you will be able to judge whether that was a good suggestion the next time you see me! I look forward to hearing more from those that were present and I hope the word spreads that KES is alive and well in Hong Kong.
